Best crack cake

It’s been just over a year, and my crack cake recipe has become the most Googled recipe I’ve ever searched for. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to try my recipe and share it with their friends. I believe it’s very popular because the cake is incredibly delicious! Plus, like all my recipes, it’s very easy to make. So remember, this cake sets you up for greatness! What I love most about this cake is the list of ingredients. I admit I was initially uncertain about how all the components would interact, but I’m happy to report that it turned out fantastic. I also love that my recipe includes wine because I enjoy having a glass while I cook. Many people have asked if they can substitute water for the wine, and the answer is yes. Your cake may not be as flavorful, but it will definitely still be moist. The same goes for substituting wine in the cake coating.   • 1 box of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 packet instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3/4 teaspoon of oil
  • 1/2 cup white wine (really any kind)


  • Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  • Mixing above ingredients by hand or with mixer.
  • Greased powder container with grease.
  • Pour into mould.
  • Bake for 1 h.
  • When cake comes out of the oven…
  • Dissolve 1 stick of butter in 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of wine.
  • Pour on hot cake.
