Sweet Potato Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 medium sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed

1½ cups sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk, divided

Additional Ingredients (for a complete recipe):

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon salt

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions:

Prepare the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes:

Peel and cook the sweet potatoes until they’re soft, either by boiling or baking. Once cooked, mash them until smooth.

Combine Ingredients:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, flour, and about half of the evaporated milk (2.5 oz). Stir well to blend.

Add Remaining Ingredients:

Add the eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and the remaining evaporated milk. Mix until the filling is smooth and well-blended.

Assemble the Pie:

Pour the sweet potato filling into the unbaked pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake:

Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve:

Allow the pie to cool before slicing. Sweet potato pie can be served warm or at room temperature, and it pairs beautifully with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
